Job description 

In this role as a Business Analyst, Data Offering and Services- 12 month fixed-term contract, you will be part of the expanding data enablement team, which has grown considerably since being established over three years ago. In this role, you will report into Director, Data Offering and Services. The team works directly with clients on a project basis, providing technical support based on a foundation of Evaluate data. We work with a range of client organisations globally – from major global pharma and biotechs, to financial services organisations and industry associations.
 

Key duties and responsibilities

As a Business Analyst, Data Offering and Services in Data Offering and Services, you will play a pivotal role in translating our customers goals into technical requirements for our Development and Engineering teams, ensuring the delivery of data products and services to our clients, who are senior-level decision makers up to C-level executives.
 
Your responsibilities include understanding both business needs and data intricacies, drafting detailed technical specifications, and collaborating closely with our Python Developers to design and implement robust data pipelines.
 
You must possess a strong foundation in data analysis, with technical proficiency in SQL, Python for ETL processes. Excellent project management skills are essential to manage timelines, resources, and stakeholder expectations effectively. Your analytical and problem-solving abilities will enable you design entity relationship diagrams, troubleshoot issues, and propose viable solutions.
 
Outstanding communication skills are crucial for articulating complex data solutions to non-technical stakeholders and conveying business requirements to technical teams. You should be adaptable, eager to learn new tools and technologies, and understand the importance of data accuracy and governance. This role demands a proactive approach to stakeholder management, ensuring continuous alignment with senior decision-makers throughout the project lifecycle.

In this role as a Business Analyst, Data Offering and Services you will:

  • Plan and develop effort estimations.
  • Gather actionable requirements.
  • Create scope documents.
  • Manage timelines, expectations, and delivery.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to develop user requirements and provide technical solutions.
  • Introduce changes to data feed products with focus on minimising impacts to on-going services, mitigating risk.
  • Engage with Data Engineering and Data Science to develop the overall data feed product.

Key requirements

  • Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in SQL and Python for ETL processes.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Abilities: Expertise in analysing data and solving complex data-related issues.
  • Project Management Skills: Capability to manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables effectively.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for liaising between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Data Governance and Quality Assurance: Knowledge of data governance principles and commitment to high data quality standards.
  • Adaptability and Continuous Learning: Openness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Stakeholder Management: Experience in managing and meeting the expectations of senior-level decision-makers.
  • Relational Data Understanding: The ability to create clear and concise scop documentation including ERDs.
